JARED PERSAUD

Mediation Certificate - Harvard Law
Jared has represented clients at the Court of Appeal of Ontario/Divisional Court and attends various courts in the Toronto Area. He is a litigation intensive lawyer having attended court 3 to 4 days a week since 2011. When not in court, he tries to resolve many cases using four-way meetings and other alternate dispute resolution methods like mediation. Respected by his colleagues, Jared saves his clients time, money and stress by working to get real results.
Jared completed his J.D. in Michigan, United States, and holds a Master of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall. He also holds a mediation certificate with Harvard Law Law School, in family mediation.
Jared has represented thousands of clients and routinely assists victims of domestic violence. He is on the domestic violence panel and is trained to protect victims of domestic violence. He acts as Duty Counsel at the Newmarket Superior Court of Justice where he assists the court and judges with self-represented litigants, 47 Sheppard Avenue and 311 Jarvis Ontario Court of Justice.
Jared is on the panel of experienced lawyers who writes test questions for the family law portion of the bar exam for Ontario. He is also an assessor for the Toronto Metropolitan University Law Practice Program in civil litigation, family law, real estate, and immigration since 2017. He became a mentor for the same program since 2020. Jared routinely, since 2012, coaches York Region co-op high school students throghout a placement at Persaud Hussain LLP to help them get experience in the field. Jared has been a lecturer with the Mandatory Information Program led by the Ministry of the Attorney general since 2011.
For nearly ten years, Jared has taught the Mandatory Information Program administered by the Superior Court of Justice and assisted self represented persons navigate the court process in his capacity as lecturer in the program.

Jared enjoys volunteering time in the community and has been the legal adviser for the New Horizon Lions Club.
NAZISH HUSSAIN

Nazish has been practicing law since 2011 and completed her Master of Laws (LLM) at Osgoode Hall Law School. She has experience representing family law clients at the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice as well as the Court of Appeal of Ontario.
An internship with the Ministry of the Attorney General in the Crown Attorney's Office at the Superior Court of Justice in Newmarket helped Nazish gain valuable insight into criminal law and procedure. She has also successfully acted for businesses and not-for-profit organizations in a wide range of legal areas.
Nazish graduated law school with a ranking in the top two percentile of her graduating class and with the highest class grades in 6 different areas of law. Her law school distinguished her as an individual that had attained academic excellence as a Magna Cum Laude. Her excellent research and writing skills earned her a position on the prestigious Law Review Board and as a research assistant in scholarly writing.
Nazish is an active member of the community and volunteers for many community organizations. She has chaired the Committee for Awareness of Violence against Women to raise support for local women's shelters. She is also an assessor and mentor for Toronto Metropolitan University Lawyer Practice Program and a lecturer for the Mandatory Information Program at the Superior Court of Justice.
